The search for Carl Sandburg College’s next president is down to three finalists. Each candidate will be on campus in April to tour the College, participate in public forums and meet with Sandburg employees and students.

Each finalist will take part in a two-day visit to the Main Campus in Galesburg and the Branch Campus in Carthage. Visit dates are scheduled for April 3-4, 4-5 and 10-11.

During that time, each candidate will participate in two open forums in which members of the Sandburg community can meet and interact with them. The forums will take place from 9:45-10:45 a.m. and 2:30-3:45 p.m. April 3 (Candidate 1), 4 (Candidate 2) and 10 (Candidate 3) in Room C102 on the Main Campus. The public is invited to attend.

All of the forums also can be viewed live or later on the Sandburg presidential search page on www.sandburg.edu. The page also includes a link to provide feedback on the candidates. The name and curriculum vitae of each finalist will be released on the page the day before their visit.

A nationwide search yielded more than 40 applicants for the position, and a presidential search team interviewed six semifinalists earlier this month. The College’s Board of Trustees hopes to have a decision on the new president for its May 24 meeting. The new president will replace Dr. Lori Sundberg, who will step down in June after eight years in the position.
